In the story of Jonah we see 1) A Command, 2) A Contradiction, 3) A Confrontation, 4) A Correction. Each hearer should learn that when we ignore God’s commands, we forsake our own mercy.
We need to cut out the worldly activities and get more in touch with our brothers and sisters in Christ, attend more church events, and put spiritual talk into our family life.
Are human beings even less than a speck and insignificant in the cosmos? This is exactly what atheistic evolutionists want us to believe. Their philosophy of the absolute materiality of everything implies that human beings are next to nothing.

To avoid building an empire of sinful desire we must 1) Know Our Own Desires, 2) Distinguish Between Legitimate and Illegitimate Desires, 3) Recognize Our Ultimate True Desire. The hearer should be able to impede sinful desires and facilitate desires for Jesus. In this sermon, I want to impart some spiritual tools whereby the hearer will be able to recognize his/her desires.
