Authentic Christianity
In today’s religious world, there are so many bodies that claim to be Christian. Does just claiming to be a Christian make you one? How can we know who is and who is not? The apostle Paul addressed these issues in the book of Galatians. Christianity is about identifying with and following Jesus Christ, not our own system of self-righteousness. Whether that system is based in the Law of Moses, human tradition, contemporary ideology, or the philosophies of men, it is anathema to God so long as Christ is not the only focus of our faith. As we study through Galatians, we see what it takes to be an authentic Christian and what falls short. The only thing that God will accept is one conformed to the image of Christ. How do we restore authentic Christianity? By returning to the Holy-Spirit-inspired image of Christ we find in the pages of the Bible and applying it to our lives.
