The Design Argument for the Existence of God
Also known as the Teleological Argument for the existence of God, the design argument reasons from the order and purpose we see in nature to an intelligent Designer. This slide show walks through the basic premises to the conclusion that God must exist. Feel free to advance the slides as you listen to the audio.

Understanding the Design Argument
The design argument, also called the teleological argument, notices that the world shows order and purpose. A watch implies a watchmaker. The amazing design in creation, from the human eye to the stars, points to a wise Designer.
David wrote, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork” (Psalm 19:1).
Christians do not need to be afraid of hard questions. The evidence for God is all around us, and careful reasoning leads to Him. Follow the slides as you listen to the audio. For the other arguments in this series, see The Cause and Effect Argument, The Design Argument, and The Moral Argument.
How to use these slides: Advance the slides as you listen, and pause to think through each premise before moving on. Ask yourself whether the premise is true and whether the conclusion follows. These studies are useful for young people preparing for college, for anyone with doubts, and for Christians who want to answer a friend’s questions with gentleness and respect. If you would like to talk through any of these arguments, please contact us.
