In this lesson, we will discuss several practical things that we can do to help one another get to heaven. The objective of this lesson is that each would examine his own life to see if there is more that he/she may do to serve the Lord and help one another get to heaven.
A personal relationship with God means 1) Prayer, 2) Practice, 3) Position. Each person should draw upon this section of Psalm 119 to bolster their personal relationship with God. May each person learn to draw near to God.
In this lesson, we will study Revelation chapter fourteen and look at the destiny of saint and sinner. Saints have their destiny with Jesus Christ. Sinners have their destiny with the wrath of God. Each hearer will be motivated to side with Jesus so that he will not suffer the wrath of God.
For us to love our God-given responsibilities we must 1) Accept how God has made us as men and women, 2) Receive God’s plan for the family, 3) Embrace the responsibilities God has given to us. Each hearer should understand that the responsibilities God has given for the family are not subject to the desires of humanity. When we love our God-given responsibilities, we encourage our families to faithfulness.
Satan is waging a war with God’s people with two primary weapons: 1) Humanly Devised Power, and 2) Humanly Devised Religion. The hearer should understand that Revelation 13 describes the war that Satan wages against God’s people. I hope that we will learn to recognize the true nature of the war and oppose the enemy.
All the scriptures are profitable for me. However, we don’t appeal to the Old Testament to determine forms of worship, the organization of the church, or the plan of salvation. However, the Old Testament can supply us information on correct attitudes, wisdom, teach us concerning faith, and provide a great deal of background information regarding the New Testament.
To be a child of God is to have the blessing of: 1) Forgiveness, 2) Family 3) A Father 4) Felicity. Each should be encouraged in knowing that they are children of God. I hope to use fatherhood as an illustration of what it means to be a child of God.
People have long sought to justify their desires to pursue a life of pleasure and invented many rationalizations along the way. One of these rationalizations is the doctrine of salvation by faith only. It is one of the greatest lies repeated today.
Luke 24:1ff?
Our meeting upon the first day of the week is not by accident nor by arbitrary selection. There are some scriptures which specifically mention the first day of the week and there are other scriptures in which the first day of the week is implied. Let's look at these scriptures and see what we can gain in understanding from them.
The sudden appearance of Cain’s wife makes one wonder where she came from. Some have suggested that God made other people, but is this consistent with what the Bible teaches?
A narcissist, who is also passive aggressive, will rarely ever confront someone directly because he does not want to change and take ownership of his problems; it is much easier to blame others.
We should love the law of God because: 1) It Gives Us Understanding, 2) It Makes us Upright, 3) It is Uplifting. Each listener should understand what spiritual benefits come from loving the law of God as set forth in Psalm 119:97-104. I hope that each would renew their love for God’s law.
The kingdom of God is composed of people not expected by men because 1) Men judge based on appearances only, 2) Men do not believe in God’s mercy and grace, 3) Men Make Cheap Sacrifices thinking that will be pleasing to God. Each listener should understand that it is God who sets the standard for who enters His kingdom, not us. I hope that we would seek to understand what God’s standard for the kingdom is so that we can conform to it being a people that doesn’t judge based on appearances, that show true mercy and grace to others, and that understand that we must make real sacrifices.
In this lesson, we will look at some attitudes and actions that are involved in practicing forgiveness. Each person should be able to understand the proper attitude to have toward someone who is need of and seeks forgiveness. The aim of this lesson is that each soberly contemplates their need for forgiveness from God in relation to another's need for forgiveness from them.
In this study, we will look at different kinds of risks that Christians must take to be Christians. There is the risk of 1) Leaving the ones we love, 2) financial loss, 3) our life and health, 4) public rejection and failure. Each Christian should know what kind of risks he or she faces each day in living the Christian life and be prepared to handle those risks understanding that while there may be "risks" while we are upon the earth, the outcome is guaranteed. I want to spur the brethren on toward taking more risks in these areas because the greater risk one takes the greater reward that is associated with the risk.
In this lesson, we will look at why it is wrong to use instrumental music. That each listener would understand why we should not use instrumental music in worship because it is sinful.
