DISCUSSION:

I.   God is Almighty

1. “Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee; Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty! God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!”

2. Morning reminds us to begin our day with God!

1) Abraham rose early in the morning to see God’s work (Genesis 19:27).

2) Jacob rose early in the morning to worship God (Genesis 28:18).

3) Moses rose early in the morning to rebuke Pharoah (Exodus 8:20).

4) Joshua rose early in the morning before crossing the Jordan (Joshua 3:1).

5) Jesus was raised from the dead early in the morning (Mark 16:2, Luke 24:1).

3. “And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”” (Exodus 34:6-7).

4. The idea of the Trinity is that God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

1) Not three gods, but One God with three persons.

2) Mark 1:9-11

3) Matthew 28:19

II.  The Creature is Made to Praise the Creator

1. “Holy, holy, holy! all the saints adore Thee, casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea; cherubim and seraphim, falling down before Thee, which wert and art and evermore shalt be.”

2. All the saints adore thee – Revelation 4:4, 6-7, 10

3. Cherubim and Seraphim – Isaiah 6:2-3

4. Worthy – Revelation 4:11

5. “I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies” (Psalm 18:3).

III. There is None That Compares to God

1. “Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee, though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see; only Thou art holy, there is none beside Thee, perfect in pow’r, in love, and purity.”

2. “Now when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, horror and great darkness fell upon him” (Genesis 15:12).

3. “So the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was” (Exodus 20:21).

4. “And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD, so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD. Then Solomon spoke: “The LORD said He would dwell in the dark cloud.” (1 Kings 8:10-12).

5. Isaiah 59:1-2 – sin separates man from God.

6. God is perfectly holy and pure and none compare to Him.

7. “Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders?” (Exodus 15;11).

8. “Who is like the LORD our God,?? Who dwells on high” (Psalms 113:5).

IV.  All Of God’s Works Praise Him

1. “Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! All Thy works shall praise Thy name, in earth and sky and sea; Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty! God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!”

2. “The heavens declare the glory of God; ??And the firmament shows His handiwork” (Psalm 19:1).
