Unfortunately, some adults behave the same way that children do. When the church is trying to do a good work, and something happens that they don’t like, instead of constructively seeking to make things better, they take their proverbial ball and go home.
This lesson will discuss how God defines the relationship of people to their labor. Each hearer should understand that labor is good, but it does not define us.
Work cannot satisfy our desire to be someone, only God can. Without Him, labor has no meaning.
I hope that you will come to this event and support it. This is an opportunity for you to engage in the Lord’s work of gratitude for others, serving others, and reaching out with the message of the gospel.
In the Old Testament, God makes provision for His people to rest. The Jews did not work on the Sabbath day; they were required by God to rest. Exodus 20:8-10 states, “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy…. In it you shall do no work….”
How do missionaries work? The word “missionary” means “a person sent by a church into an area to carry on evangelism or other activities, as educational or hospital work” (dictionary.com). The word stems from a Latin word meaning “one who is sent.” In the New Testament, we can identify several missionaries. Philip seems to be the first of these.

change requires us to acknowledge the wrongs of the past, and make God the foundation of our change.
The Bible speaks of objective guilt for sin and the feeling of guilt from our conscience. Christ's blood cleanses both (Hebrews 9:14). Let go of guilt and get to work.
Phariseeism begins with practical, sensible rules (Matthew 15:1-2). But Jesus was not merely practical and sensible; He was radical. To every objection, "Yes, but Jesus."
Hope is important because it gives us something 1) To Talk About, 2) To Work Toward, 3) To Hang Onto. Each should understand the importance of hope in the life of the Christian.
Through Jesus, the saints overcome all enemies.
Let’s not be like the one-talent man who went and buried his talent in the ground.
Change direction for God (2 Chronicles 15:1-7) and 1) God Is with Us, 2) We Find Him in Trouble, 3) Our Work Is Rewarded. Each person should grow by changing for God.
The text of Jesus' parable of the workers in the vineyard, where the landowner pays those hired last the same wage as the first. So the last will be first.
The Holy Spirit's work in the early church (John 14:26) was 1) Promised, 2) Performed, 3) Propagated, 4) Perfected. Each person should understand that work.
God rested on the seventh day because His work was finished (Genesis 2:1-3). He set aside a day of rest as an example so man could rest also.
