    In this lesson we will discuss the four commands in 1 Peter 2:17: Honor all men; Love the brotherhood; Fear God; Honor the king. The hearer should be able to quote and explain the verse citing a supporting scripture for each point.

    We enter God's gates with thanksgiving because 1) thanksgiving is the only appropriate response for what God has done for us, 2) thanksgiving brings about a change of attitude in our lives, 3) thanksgiving spurs us into action for the welfare and benefit of others. The hearer should be able to state why he ought to have a heart of thanksgiving and how that relates to Christian living.

    In this lesson, we will look at Matthew 25:35, 36 as a guide for caring for others. This passage indicates that we should care for others by providing for their 1) Nourishment, 2) Shelter, 3) Clothing, 4) Comfort, and 5) Companionship. We must understand what it means to care about other people. Jesus said that this was key to eternal life.

    “Can He Depend on You?”

    Can Jesus depend upon us as his servants? Can he depend upon us to 1) Help the needy? 2) Live for Him? 3) Teach the Gospel? Each should know their responsibilities as Christians to help the poor, live in a Christian way, and teach others the gospel. In this lesson, I hope that each would understand that while God does not depend upon us in an existential sense, he does depend upon us, by his choice, to do what he commands us to do.

    The Christian can truly have personal peace in his life by following some practical instructions from scripture. Each hearer should know how to have personal peace in his life. This lesson brings scripture to bear on some practical ways to have personal peace.

  • Christian Graces – Brotherly Kindness

    A Christian who displays brotherly kindness is going to be 1) Gracious and Giving, 2) Challenging and Truthful, and 3) Affectionate and Loving. The hearer should understand what it means to love someone as a brother or sister in Christ by displaying the characteristics of brotherly kindness. The aim of this lesson is to familiarize the hearer with scriptures that discuss these qualities.
