The Cross of Christ Gospel Meeting
I hope that we have been promoting our gospel meeting in the community. This is going to be a great event. We have a wonderful speaker for this event in brother Mike Bonner. He will do a fantastic job of presenting the lessons that we have planned, and you will not be disappointed. This event is a GREAT opportunity for you to invite your friends and neighbors to come hear the preaching of the gospel. They will want to hear brother Mike Bonner. At the bottom of the flier under Mike’s background information are several websites where you can listen to brother Bonner’s preaching. Take some time to get a sample of his preaching from those places. You will be excited about it.
The topic that we have scheduled for brother Mike is also a very good one. I don’t know of any topic more relevant than “The Cross of Christ.” It is central to what it means to be a Christian, and the cross of Christ challenges us at every moment to be God’s people truly. The apostle Paul wrote, “For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2). He was speaking to a culture lifted with pride. We live in the exact same kind of culture. This message is essential for us today, and it cannot be emphasized enough. Please make your plans to support this meeting by resolving to attend every service, inviting friends and neighbors, making sure that your family attends, and participating enthusiastically in every service. This can be a great time of spiritual renewal for us as we transition to our summer schedule remembering to put God first in our lives.
