We have joy in Christ through the sacrifice and service of 1) Obedience, 2) Doing All Things Without Murmuring or Complaining, and 3) Holding Fast the Word of Life. Each person should understand that sacrifice and service bring joy to our lives because we are not focusing on self, but God and others. Ultimately, joy does not come by focusing on ourselves but on God and others.
In this Psalm of Hopeful Trust we see 1) Optimism, 2) Faith, 3) Courage. Each hearer should understand that we need to display these attitudes toward one another. This sermon encourages optimism, faith, and courage.
The fruit of the Spirit is joy: 1) Joy Comes from the Spirit, 2) Joy Brings Peace, 3) Joy Endures. Each person should understand that joy comes from the Spirit, not from the flesh.

God’s righteousness extends to matters of conscience with two concerns: 1) Judging, and 2) Influence. Each hearer should be able to explain the problems of judging and influence in relationship to decisions of conscience.
Faith brings joy when we 1) Trust Christ, 2) Desire Christ, 3) Work for Christ. Each hearer will understand that faith brings joy when we trust, desire, and work for Christ. Each person will work on developing joy through faith.
All Christians must grow. Spiritual growth (like physical growth) involves 1) Proper Nourishment, 2) Proper Exercise, 3) Proper Rest. All should understand what they need to do to grow as Christians.

In this lesson we will discuss the four commands in 1 Peter 2:17: Honor all men; Love the brotherhood; Fear God; Honor the king. The hearer should be able to quote and explain the verse citing a supporting scripture for each point.
Preaching Christ brings joy because of the 1) Challenges, 2) Comradery, and 3) Christ. Each person should understand the joy that comes from preaching Christ and evangelism. Each person may open their heart to evangelizing for the joy to be found.
Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me by my 1) pure life 2) pure speech 3) living sacrifice 4) charitable deeds. Let each would resolve to be beautiful on the inside and not worry so much about external beauty. I want to emphasize how beauty in God's sight is radically different from man's standard of beauty.
In this lesson we will compare and contrast the purposes and expectations of man in relationships with the purposes and expectations of God. We will note what humans construct when it comes to relationships vs. what God creates and then see how liberating God’s way is. I hope that each hearer will understand how God’s design of loving one another encapsulates the whole of human relationships without the need for additional human constructions.
The righteousness of the gospel means maintaining good relationships with 1) The Government, 2) Your Neighbor, and 3) Christ. Each person would understand what it means to maintain good relationships.
