Why Did God Wait to Send Jesus? – Part 2

God produced a morally perfect person, His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, both God and man in the flesh. Galatians 4:4-5 says, “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.” God knew all along that mankind would not accomplish salvation. God proved this beyond a shadow of a doubt over the many years of waiting for His Son to come into the world. Today, that record stands. Man needs God to save him, and the history of the Bible documents all of man’s failures “that no flesh should glory in His presence” (1 Corinthians 1:29).

  • What Does the Bible Say About LGBTQ+ Lifestyles?

In Matthew 19:4-6, Jesus said, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’ ? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” This teaching answers all the questions that need to be answered about this issue.

Can the Devil Give You a Vision Tempting You From God?

First, God does not give miraculous visions today. Those miracles ended after the time of the apostles. First Corinthians 13:8-10 says, “Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect (complete) has come, then that which is in part will be done away.” Today, the complete word of God has been revealed by God (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Prophecies, tongues, knowledge, and other miracles were “in part.” The knowledge that comes through the revealed, written word of God is complete.

  • Why Did God Wait to Send Jesus? – Part 1

Every child born into the world is innocent. Genesis 8:21 says that man begins to sin “from his youth,” not “from his birth.” Every single person has a chance to live a morally pure life, but no one does. Everyone sins eventually. At the dawn of time, however, this had yet to be proved. Could some man live a morally pure life without God’s aid? The Old Testament shows otherwise.

    Speaking in Tongues (Part 3)

The miraculous gift of tongues was a sign that confirmed the word to unbelievers. God gave the apostles and other disciples the ability to miraculously speak foreign languages so they could take the gospel to the world. This miracle would convince unbelievers to believe the gospel as it did in Acts 2.

  • What Happened at the Pool of Bethesda?

    Why Christianity Makes Sense

Christianity makes sense because 1) There is a Creator, 2) Mankind Has a Purpose, 3) The Creator Supports and Sustains Us, 4) He Desires the Unity of Mankind, 5) He Reveals Himself in Jesus, 6) He Saves by His Grace. Each should understand that these fundamental truths make sense of the world.

    Speaking in Tongues (Part 2)

Tongues were not always understood by others, so they did not edify others. Without a translator, they edified the speaker of the tongue only. The gift of prophecy always edified because it was spoken in a language everyone understood. So, if speech edifies (whether it is a foreign tongue or a prophecy), then it is a language heard and understood. Tongues edified the speaker, so tongues were always understood by the person speaking them. That’s not true of people speaking tongues today. They often claim not to know what they said. So, they are not really “speaking in tongues.”

  • The Joy of Contentment

Contentment brings joy when it is 1) Not Proud, 2) Not lazy. 3) not self-satisfied, 4) Lives within its means, 5) satisfied with one's situation, 6) The peaceful assurance of salvation. Each hearer should be able to practice contentment, recognize when others are not content, and be able to discuss Christian contentment with others. Each should understand more about contentment and be able to make application to their life.

    The Need for Vision

We need vision because 1) Not having vision results in disaster, 2) Having a vision improves attitudes, 3) Having a vision improves industry, 4) The future literally depends upon our having vision. Each Christian, especially the leaders, ought to recognize the need to have vision for their lives and the church to motivate each to see the need for vision in their lives to spur the growth of the church.

    Speaking in Tongues (Part 1)

The miracle of speaking in tongues was not utterances only understood by God, but languages that people could understand—what we call foreign languages.  Acts 2:4 says, "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." Those who heard the apostles speaking in tongues were amazed. They evaluated what they heard. They said to each other, "Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?" (Acts 2:7-8).

  • Tychicus and Onesimus – Two Great Brothers in Christ (Part 2)

Paul described Tychicus as a “beloved brother,” “faithful minister,” “fellow servant,” and said that he would “comfort their hearts” (Ephesians 6:21-22, Colossians 4:7-8). The expression “beloved brother” shows Paul’s affection for Tychicus and communicated to the churches Paul’s relationship with him. “Faithful minister” was in reference to Tychicus ability to carry out the tasks that Paul assigned to him.

    Premillennialism – Right or Wrong?

In this lesson we will look at whether premillennialism is true or false to get a brief overview of what this belief teaches. These doctrines are: 1) Prophecy Unfulfilled, 2) Rejection of the Messiah by the Jews, 3) Imperfection of the Church, 4) Only the saints raised in the rapture, 5) Reign of Christ for 1000 years. Each listener should be able to explain why premillennialism is false. To help all understand that premillennialism is a false doctrine that will cause someone's soul to be lost if believed due to its blasphemous doctrines regarding Christ and the church.

    Forbidden Words – Proud Words

In the final analysis, all speech that is proud in its origins, that is, that does not acknowledge God as Lord over one’s speech, is sinful. This is the attitude of many in our country today. They claim that their tongue belongs to them, and they may use it however they see fit. They have forgotten that everything belongs to God, including our tongues. Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the LORD's, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.” The last part of that verse says, “and those who dwell therein.” That includes human beings.
