PROPOSITION: In this lesson, we will study Revelation 5:9-10 and see that the Lamb is worthy because he has given us His: 1) Sacrifice, 2) Salvation, 3) Station.

OBJECTIVE: To understand what Christ has done for us and why He is worthy of our praise.

INTRODUCTION:

1. Read: Revelation 5:9-10

2. About the Text:

1) The story of the book of Revelation is the story of salvation.

2) At the end of Revelation 4, no one was found worthy to open the book.

3) At the beginning of Revelation 5, one is found worthy.

DISCUSSION: The Lamb is worthy because he has given us His . . .

I.   Sacrifice

1. He is the lamb that has been slain.

2. Why do we need a sacrifice? Isaiah 59:1-2 – A penalty is due for our sins.

3. Romans 3:26

4. Jesus paid that penalty so that we would not have to.

5. Hebrews 9:11-15; 23-28.

II.  Salvation

1. He has redeemed us unto God.

2. Redemption means to buy back and to save.

3. Kings redeemed their citizens from foreign slavery.

4. Jesus redeems us from the slavery of sin.

5. John 8:34 – “Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.”

6. Romans 6:16-18.

III. Station

1. He has made us to be priests and kings.

2. “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).

3. Galatians 4:4-7 – Sons of God – Brothers and Sisters of Christ the King.

4. We are royalty.
