Summertime Activities
Summer is here and along with it comes several activities associated with the summer’s long days and short nights. I hope that you are planning on participating in several of our spiritual activities that will be taking place. The Northeast Texas Summer Youth Series is a series of lessons that begins on June 3rd. It takes place on Monday nights starting at 7:00 PM at different congregations throughout Northeast Texas. It is for all ages. It entails a lesson and a meal. We will take the van to each of these events. I hope you will make your plans to be with us in as many as possible. New Boston hosts this series on June 24th.
There are many summer camps taking place also. Camp Ida is just right down the road. They have a website (campida.org) detailing the available sessions you may attend. There are other Christian camps happening also in the states of Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Our elders have been very generous in helping children go to the camp of their choice each year. Why not send your child to one of these camps for a week? It will help them grow in Christ, and they will come home with a renewed sense of spirituality that will energize your home.
Summertime is also a time when many take vacation. This is not a time to forget the Lord! Let’s remember to leave a contribution check behind or double up when we get back to ensure we make our weekly budget. Also, while you are gone, don’t forget to visit a sister congregation to worship. We appreciate our visitors who travel through, and someone else will appreciate you for stopping in also.
