Be an Evangelist

An evangelist is literally someone who shares the gospel with another. Everyone should be an evangelist in the original sense of the word. This doesn’t mean that we will be baptizing people every hour. Relationships take time to develop, and we can’t share the gospel successfully with another person without developing a relationship with them. It takes time. Jesus compares evangelism to planting crops and harvesting them (Matthew 13). This is not a quick process. Different people may reap where we have sowed, and that is a good thing. Not everyone is equipped with the same abilities. God uses the whole church to accomplish his will (1 Corinthians 12:18).

What should I focus on? I should do what I am good at doing and use that to God’s glory. Don’t use what you are good at doing as an excuse not to share the gospel with others. Use it as an excuse to share the gospel with others. Can you embroider? Embroider scripture and give it away to someone. Are you good at driving? Offer someone a lift and give them a tract. Do you cook? Make a meal and give it away to a friend. Put a Bible verse with it. Give yourself away to others. It is more blessed (Acts 20:35).

God gives the increase (1 Corinthians 3:6-7). Don’t worry so much about results. Let God do his work in others’ lives. He is the One we are seeking to glorify. We are the servants. He is the master. He will provide in due time according to His holy will. Be content with the blessings He has given us. Love your brothers and sisters in Christ fervently. Be passionate about the word of God. He will open doors for us.

God bless you, and I love you.
