A Happy New Year of Work and Service!
The year 2018 is in the books, and 2019 is here! It was a great year and we got a lot accomplished last year. I am very happy to be here in New Boston and working with the church of Christ in New Boston. Let’s make 2019 even better! How can we do that? First, we need to make every effort to support the work of this congregation through our attendance. The Bible teaches us that attendance encourages us (Hebrews 10:24-25). In addition, we have many special activities taking place through the year. Let’s do our best to participate. Second, let’s open our hearts and give to support the work. Our giving shows how much we love God according to 2 Corinthians 8:8. The economy has rebounded, and things are going well. It is time to increase our giving, and we can do it! Third, we need to be inviting our friends and family to attend services with us. Some of us have been doing this, and that has resulted in some baptisms and new memberships. We are so grateful for your efforts! The more we invite, the more opportunity we have to teach the lost. Let’s bring others with us to services. That is a primary opportunity for them to learn about Jesus, the Bible, and the church.
The old year is gone and done. It is time to look forward and go forward! This new year has some great opportunities in store for us to work and serve. We have a growing youth group. We have a men’s class that is starting this week. We have ladies’ classes. We have a gospel meeting coming up in early March with Phil Sanders. Are we seeking to follow Jesus’ example of love and service?
