    How Prioritizing God Changes Us

In this lesson we will notice three ways prioritizing God changes our lives: 1) Self is not Central, 2) Life is Larger, 3) People are Precious. I hope that each listener understands that prioritizing God has significant consequences for life and makes our life better.

  • Giving Matters

In this lesson, we will look at why giving matters from Malachi 3:8-10. 1) God Owns Everything, 2) We hurt ourselves when we don’t give, 3) When we give, God gives Himself. Each person should understand that giving is important and that we need to do it to be faithful to the Lord.

    There’s Only One You

God made each person’s soul and placed it into a unique situation. No one else has had the experiences that you have. No one else knows the things that you know. No one else can do what you do. Why is this important to remember?

    The Immanuel Prophecies

In this lesson, we will discuss the Immanuel prophecies of Isaiah 7-12. The hearer will understand that God revealed key characteristics of the Messiah/Christ in Isaiah 7-12 and how Jesus fulfilled them. I hope to encourage people to think more about messianic prophecy.

  • One-Star Ratings

Not all of our work is going to be five-star quality. We make mistakes. We have bad days. Things don’t go right … a lot. Most of the time, people just ignore our failures and move on. Sometimes, we get negative feedback. How do we react? Do we take it constructively? Do we write it off? Do we plot to get them back? Think about Proverbs 13:18. “Poverty and shame will come to him who disdains correction, But he who regards a rebuke will be honored.”

I’m glad to report, however, that January through April of 2021 has been significantly improved over last year. We broke 13,000 pageviews for April and the trend seems to be continuing upward. This bodes well for the future of our website.

How Does God Show His Relationship To Us?

God shows His relationship to us through His Son, Jesus Christ, and the blessings that result from being a Christian. Galatians 3:26-27 says, “For ye are all sons of God, through faith, in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ did put on Christ.” We have a relationship with God the Father that is the same as Jesus Christ. We are children of God.

    Assembling Matters

  • Challenges in Evangelism

Jesus was an evangelist. “Now after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God” (Mark 1:14). He said, “For the Son of man came to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). Jesus did an amazing job of evangelizing others, however, even Jesus had challenges when it came to evangelism.

  • “Will Jesus Find Us Watching”

Are we prepared for Jesus to come? We must 1) Be prepared. 2) Be patient. 3) Expect the consequences of proper and improper preparation. Will Jesus find us watching? Each should know what the scriptures say about being prepared, patient, and expecting the consequences of Jesus return. The aim of this sermon is to encourage all to prepare so that Jesus will find us watching.

  • The Righteous Work of Jesus Christ

The Righteous Work of Jesus Christ means 1) The Law is Fulfilled, 2) Jesus is the Greatest in the Kingdom, and 3) His Righteousness Exceeds the Law. Each person should understand that Jesus is God’s righteousness for us today. This lesson seeks to explain Matthew 5:17-20 in terms of Jesus being God’s righteousness.

  • Be an Evangelist

An evangelist is literally someone who shares the gospel with another. Everyone should be an evangelist in the original sense of the word. This doesn’t mean that we will be baptizing people every hour. Relationships take time to develop, and we can’t share the gospel successfully with another person without developing a relationship with them. It takes time.

  • Accessing God through Jesus

Who may approach God? Thank God for Jesus! He resolves this problem by being both God and man. John wrote further in John 1:18, “the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.” Jesus literally interprets who God is for us so that we may know and have access Him. “For through Him we both have our access by one Spirit unto the Father.” (Ephesians 2:18).

Does God Hear Prayers of Anyone not In Jesus?

To be “in Jesus” is to be in the body of Christ. To be in the body of Christ is to have one’s sins forgiven because of Christ’s sacrifice. Acts 20:28 says that Christ purchased the church with His own blood. If one is not in the church, then the blood of Christ does not cover his sins. Jesus is the Savior of His body (Ephesians 5:23). To be outside of the body means that one has not had his sins forgiven and has not been saved. In other words, he is still considered an unforgiven sinner by God.
