Wonderful Growth!
“Wonderful” is the word that I would use to describe the decision that Jarek Montes made to be immersed into Christ this past Sunday. After his baptism, we gathered round the front of the auditorium and prayed with and for him. We rejoice with him and his grandmother, Wilma Alexander, in his decision to become a Christian. Jarek has been studying with Blake Tyndell and will continue studying with him. We are so proud of Jarek’s decision, and we are proud of Blake for studying with Jarek. Please continue to pray for both of them as they continue their studies together.
Speaking of those of whom we are proud, our Bible Bowl Team has done it again! This past Monday, they all went to Mt. Pleasant to the North Jefferson Church of Christ and competed based upon their study of Ephesians 1-3. I am proud to announce that they got first place again! This is fantastic, and it demonstrates a tremendous amount of diligence on their part to study and learn the material. We are thankful for them and for their coaches who work with them so that they can demonstrate this level of learning. Please remember our youth group in your prayers as they study and grow.
All of these activities are significant because they indicate the growth of Christ’s body at New Boston. There is the growth of the Lord’s adding members to the body. There is the growth of our young people increasing in knowledge and learning. We are to “grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18), and we are thankful that God is giving the increase (1 Corinthians 3:6) at the New Boston Church of Christ!
