Our Coming Gospel Meeting
Our upcoming gospel meeting is only three weeks away! It begins on February 20th and continues through the 22nd. The theme of this meeting is “Great Songs of the Church.” We have fliers to hand out to friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers. We can also post these fliers in public places in the community. We are running an ad in the paper about this meeting two weeks prior to the event. We want to talk up this meeting to others so that they will come out and hear the message of the gospel preached!
We also have twelve students coming from the Brown Trail School of Preaching to knock doors in the community on Friday and Saturday. They will arrive on Friday morning around 10:00 and we will begin our door knocking campaign. We want to fix a sandwich and finger foods lunch for them at the church building on Friday and Saturday. We are asking for volunteers to make these sandwiches. We are asking for other volunteers to help serve. We are asking for other volunteers to buy chips to bring for these lunches. We are asking our men to come early on Saturday morning and cook breakfast for them also. We have already put a sign-up list in the foyer for those who would like to host a student to stay in their home for Friday and Saturday evening.
I am excited to be preparing the lessons for this meeting. Our lessons are “How Great Thou Art,” “Amazing Grace,” “Onward Christian Soldiers,” “The Old Rugged Cross,” and “Blessed Assurance.” These are beloved gospel hymns that everyone knows and loves. These great gospel songs have a fantastic message that we can share with the community. Will you pray for the success of this meeting? Will you volunteer to help with this meeting?
