In this lesson, we will answer the question, What is the Church? We must understand God’s original design in the creation. When we understand this, we will understand what the church is in relationship to God’s great plan to restore unity between God and man, and between man and man. Each member should understand God’s desire for unity in the church as the restoration of His purposes in creation.
As we study through Psalm 119:161-168 we will note that the blessing of loving God’s word brings 1) Awe, 2) Joy, 3) Hatred of Falsehood, 4) Praise, 5) Peace, 6) Hope, 7) Love, and 8) Faithfulness. I hope that each will understand that loving God’s word brings great personal blessing.
Loving our families as Jesus loves us means: 1) Loving Our Families Without Expectations, 2) Loving Our Families Selflessly with Faithfulness, 3) Loving Graciously without Reservation. We must love our families like Jesus loves us to have Jesus living in our homes. If we learn this, then our homes will be great.
In this lesson, we will study why Jesus died on the cross. To understand that Jesus brings unity to mankind in the church, we must understand God’s original design in the creation. When we understand this, we will understand that Jesus died on the cross to restore unity between God and man, and between man and man. Each member should understand that Jesus died on the cross to bring unity in the church as the restoration of His purposes in creation.
To avoid building an empire of sinful desire we must 1) Know Our Own Desires, 2) Distinguish Between Legitimate and Illegitimate Desires, 3) Recognize Our Ultimate True Desire. The hearer should be able to impede sinful desires and facilitate desires for Jesus. In this sermon, I want to impart some spiritual tools whereby the hearer will be able to recognize his/her desires.
Fear comes from 1) Lack of Knowledge, 2) Lack of Love, and 3) Lack of Faith. That we may be able to overcome our fears and live in love, peace, and fellowship with one another.
