Wrapping Up Summer
We have had some wonderful youth activities this summer, and there are a few more events left to attend. Next Monday evening, the Oak Grove Church of Christ, located just Northeast of Mt. Pleasant, is having a gospel meeting. In conjunction with this event, the Summer Youth Series is being held at this congregation. I am also leading singing on Tuesday night of this gospel meeting, which goes through Wednesday. Brother Tyler Young is speaking. We will take the van both evenings, and I encourage everyone to participate. I know that you will be uplifted if you go. Why not make your plans to come with us on Monday or Tuesday of next week?
Our summer series on Wednesday nights has been a huge success. Our speakers have done an outstanding job in preaching God’s word on the topic of “Grow in the Grace and Knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). We will finish this series of lessons in the month of August. I know you will encourage and uplift others by your attendance. Hebrews 3:13 says, “but exhort one another daily, while it is called ‘Today,’ lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.”
We have another big event scheduled the first weekend in October. This is our marriage seminar with brother Mike Price. I will have more to say about this event in our coming bulletins, but for now, please go ahead and mark down October 2-4 on your calendar and reserve it! You will not be disappointed. Brother Price is a practiced marriage counselor and commands a wealth of information. Whether you are single, married, divorced, remarried, or widowed, you will learn something practical from his lessons. God bless you and I love you.
