DISCUSSION: If We Never Meet again

I.   The End of Life is Soon

1. Soon we’ll come to the end of life’s journey

1) James 1 Life is a vapor

2) Journey has many options, variations yet simply Matthew 7:13,14

3) Hebrews 9:27; 2 Corinthians 5:10;

2. And perhaps we’ll never meet anymore

1) Luke 16 Hadean realm, Great Gulf fixed

2) Acts 20:37-38

3) Consider Acts 21:13 care for one another and God’s purposes Acts 9:16

3. Till we gather in Heaven’s bright city

1) Gathering place-meeting place Matthew 25

2) Bright and beautiful

3) Shall we Gather at the River?

II.  The Sorrows of Life are Sure

1. So often we’re parted with sorrow –

1) Dorcas – Act 9:39;

2) Lazarus John 11:

3) Philippians 3:17-18

2. Benedictions often quicken our pain, But we never shall sorrow in heaven,

1) Pain expressed in psalms-imprecatory psalms

2) Spirit helps our infirmity Romans 8:26

3) Eternal Victory Celebration in Heaven.

3. God be with you till we meet again- a song to itself Philippians 4:18-19

1) God Speed 2 John 10-11

2) We will meet again as those who will ever be with the Lord 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

3) Comfort in the face of grief.

III. The River of Life is Sweet

1. Meet by the river—River of Life Revelation 22:1,2 where is the Tree of Life

2. No storm-clouds ever darken the sky Revelation 21:23; 22:5

3. We’ll be happy in Heaven “there shall in no wise enter into it” Revelation 21:27

4. The wonderful sweet by-and-by—poor euphemistic descriptor—aren’t they all regarding Heaven?

1. God wants us to be with him in Heaven 2 Peter 3

2) God has done so much for all of us.

3) Are we doing what He expects of us?
