TITLE: Jesus’ Words of Encouragement

PROPOSITION: Jesus encourages us by telling us about 1) A Place, 2) A Plan, 3) A Person, and 4) The Power of Prayer.

OBJECTIVE: The objective of this lesson is to share Jesus’ words of encouragement with us so that we may be encouraged as well.

INTRODUCTION:

1. Read: John 14:1-14

2. About the Text:

1) The disciples knew that Jesus was leaving them.

2) Jesus wanted to encourage them.

3) He does so in John 14-17.

DISCUSSION: Jesus’ encourages us by telling us about . . .

I.   A Place (John 14:1-3) – Heaven.

1. 2 Corinthians 4:16-5:5

2. 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

II.  A Plan (John 14:4-6) – Jesus is the plan!

1. Acts 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under….”

2. We must trust and obey Him.
