I trust that everyone’s Christmas holiday went well and that all had a good time with family. The New Year is now here and we are ready to move forward into 2022! What is in the past is in the past. God has set before us the time that we have right now, and the New Year is a great time to reflect on that truth. The apostle Paul wrote, “Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13-14). The faithful Christian has a tremendous amount of good things that are ahead. He knows that His choices will be approved by God because he is giving diligence to do that by correctly handling God’s word (2 Timothy 2:15). He knows that he will love the Lord his God with all his heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37). He knows that he will love his neighbor as himself (Matthew 22:39). He is going to let the grace of God inform him how to live his life soberly, righteously, and godly (Titus 2:11-12). He will be content with what he has (Hebrews 13:5). He will provide for his own (1 Timothy 5:8). He will give to others as he has opportunity (Galatians 6:10). He will participate in the work and worship of the church (Hebrews 10:23). He will be actively involved in evangelizing others (Matthew 28:18-20). He will let no opportunity to do good pass him by (James 4:17). With all of these wonderful things to think about and work on throughout the year, 2022 will be filled with greatness! Let’s resolve to be a faithful child of God this new year!

God bless you, and I love you.
