Fifty Years of Bulletins

calendar

Milestones only come infrequently. That’s why they are called milestones. We, as a congregation, reached a milestone this year. This is the fiftieth year that the congregation has published a bulletin according to the volume number on our header. That represents a tremendous amount of work accomplished, all of which will be counted as effort made for the kingdom of God. There’s no telling how much good the bulletin has done over the past fifty years, but I’m sure it is significant. The world, of course, will not laud our accomplishments. They care not for spiritual matters. However, we, as a congregation, may certainly appreciate the work. None of that work is vain in Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:58).

Having said that, now is not a time to rest on our laurels, but push ahead. We want fifty more years! Such a goal requires that we remain vigilant and steadfast in our dedication. We must work to ensure that the congregation remains faithful and true to the word of God. We must be about the Lord’s business of evangelizing the lost. We must develop and train men who will become active leaders in the body. These are all great tasks that will ensure that another fifty years will be forthcoming.

What can we do? First, pray for the future of the congregation. Second, reach out to someone with the message of the gospel. Third, be faithful in your efforts to serve the Lord whatever they might be. Fourth, work for unity in the body of Christ. Finally, let us love one another as we have in the past so that the future may be just as bright!

God bless you, and I love you.
