Bible Study is Important

Bible Study is Important

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children” (Hosea 4:6).  God’s people have been hurt due to lack of knowledge.  We can be hurt again.  It is important that we search the scriptures daily (Acts 17:11).  We must abide in God’s word so that the truth can make us free (John 8:31-32).  We must correctly handle the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).  The Bible also teaches that faith comes by hearing the word (Romans 10:17), and without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).  We must hear, study, and learn God’s word to be pleasing to God!

An opportunity to do just that is before us with a new web site put together by brother Eddie Cloer and Truth for Today: throughthescriptures.com.  This web site offers an opportunity to study the Bible from beginning to end.  The instructors are members of the churches of Christ who love God and His word.  They have joined together to write a commentary on the Bible, which we have in our library.  They are now joining together to teach on this web site.  This is an opportunity for study and growth.  Stay tuned in the next several weeks to learn more about this school to study and learn the Bible.  God bless you, and I love you.
