Always Abound!

Kevin Cauley enjoys the holiday dinner.

It is such a blessing to minister to you!  We had a wonderful holiday dinner this past Saturday. The food was wonderful, and so many of you were very gracious about my cooking in particular.  I dare say that a great time was had by all, and we had several visitors to come and be with us for this event.  That is a wonderful testimony to your love and friendship in the community. “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment” (Philippians 1:9).

We also had a wonderful event with our “Learning to Serve” program this past Sunday afternoon.  Thank you to all who came out and volunteered to help with these young souls.  Many of them really have no opportunity to learn about God, Jesus, and the Bible except at this event.  It is a big effort to do this, but what a blessing you are to those kids!  They may not know it right now, but some day they will remember, and be glad.  Paul wrote, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

Our brother Harold Shirley has passed from this life to the next.  Brother Norman was very active in visiting with him, and I am thankful for the good job that he did in service to this family.  I was able to visit with brother Shirley last Thursday and we had prayer together.  Please remember his good wife, Mary, in your prayers as she mourns.  They were married for sixty-three years.  What a wonderful example of faithfulness to us all.

This will be the last bulletin until the New Year!  Happy holidays to all! God bless you, and I love you.
