A Successful SYS and Some Future Plans
What a fantastic turnout we had for our summer youth series this past Monday night. If you missed it, then you really missed out on some great fellowship, some wonderful food, and a fantastic opportunity to worship God together. I am so thankful for you and your efforts to support this work. I am grateful for brother Justin Tyndell who coordinated things, and also for brother Jamey Thomas for making necessary preparations for the event. Austin Cauley did a great job leading singing, and the word of God was magnified and exalted to the youth of our area. It was just an exciting event and tickled me to see everything come together son wonderfully. You are a great blessing to New Boston, and to the Christians in the surrounding community.
We have some plans to be making for future events. As you read this, you may want to get out your calendars. First, on August the 8th, the elders have called for a men’s breakfast. This is a very important breakfast for to attend. We will be discussing some needed improvements to our building, and perhaps even getting started on some of the work. Second, mark down October 2-4 as the date for our fall “gospel meeting.” This will be a Friday through a Sunday. I say “gospel meeting,” but really it is going to be a marriage seminar. Brother Mike Price of Picayune, Mississippi, a practiced psychologist and professional counselor will be conducting the event. He has much experience in this area and will bring some wonderful wisdom to the seminar. We will have some fliers available for this event very soon, but for the time being, mark it down on your calendar and be telling your friends and neighbors about the things that are happening at the New Boston Church of Christ!
