Do we feel the same joy for the gift God gave to us as we do for those fleeting baubles that we exchange each December? When Paul wrote, “Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice” (Philippians 4:4), he had Jesus in mind. He is the gift given for all time with whom and by whom we may rejoice forever. After the “season of giving” has ended, God’s gift giving goes on.
In this lesson we learn that near the cross we find 1) Healing, 2) Heaven, and 3) Help. As an objective of this lesson, the listener will be able to understand scripturally the song “Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross.”
