The basic gist of what is happening is that a man suspects his wife of cheating on him. He takes her to the priest. She offers a sacrifice of barley meal. The priest takes some holy water and mixes it with dust from the floor of the tabernacle. This is a harmless concoction that does nothing to human physiology. The mixing of the dust with the holy water represents impurity. It was not some kind of “morning after pill.”
Who, in their right mind, would cheer the death of a newborn infant? Yet, some would cheer the death of infants seconds from begin born.
In this lesson, we want to examine the blessing of being benign, and specifically, that being benign brings blessings in relationship to 1) Authority, 2) Authenticity, and 3) Abundance. The objective of this lesson is to impress upon the hearer the notion that living a life of sin is not “fun,” but harmful, and that it is much more blessed and rewarding to live a benign and harmless life.
