What Does It Take? – Part 4
We have discussed three things to help the church grow, but there is a fourth that stands among these three: Yearning, Opportunity, Ubiquity. Do you see it? The fourth thing is YOU. Have you ever said to yourself, “The church doesn’t need me.” Nothing could be further from the truth. Every single person is important in the body of Christ. Paul wrote: “But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. And the eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I have no need of you’; nor again the head to the feet, ‘I have no need of you.’ No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary” (1 Corinthians 12:20-22).
Now that you know that you are important, ask yourself, what can I do to help the church? Do I have that yearning that I need to have. Have I given proper attention to the opportunities that are before me? Do people know who I am and what I stand for in the community—am I ubiquitous? Yes, YOU are the key to success in the church. God uses men and women just like you to work in His kingdom, but we must choose to work.
Paul wrote to the brethren at Ephesus, “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen” (Ephesians 3:20, 21). God’s power works “IN US!” His glory is “IN THE CHURCH!” Let’s seek to glorify Him and let His power work through us. YOU are the key! Will you let God’s power work through you?
