    The God of Truth – Part 3

    A second corollary to the truth that God cannot lie is this: God will always keep his promises whether the promise is positive or negative. In Isaiah 55:11 God says, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; ​​It shall not return to Me void, ​​But it shall accomplish what I please, ​​And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

    The statements, “God allows disagreement on matters of faith” and “God does not allow disagreement on matters of faith” are contradictory statements. One is true and one is a false. God cannot be the author of both statements. However, many in the religious world today state that men can believe different and contradictory things regarding matters of faith and still make it to heaven. The Bible teaches that there is one body, Christ’s church (Ephesians 4:4, Ephesians 1:22-23), and Christ is the Savior of that one body (Ephesians 5:23).

    The Bible teaches that God always tells the truth and cannot lie. Titus 1:2 says, “in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began.” Hebrews 6:18 states, “that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.”
