The Beatitudes
Those who are citizens of God’s kingdom have 1) The State of Being Blessed, 2) The Attitude of the Blessed, 3) The Blessing of the Blessed. The hearer should understand that to be a citizen of God’s kingdom means having and maintaining these beatitudes in our lives. The aim of this sermon is to communicate that the beatitudes introduce the Sermon on the Mount and the character of the citizen of God’s kingdom.
