The purpose of marriage is to produce “godly offspring” (Malachi 2:15). The married must remain married to rear godly children and demonstrate lifelong faithfulness. Pleasure in the sexual relationship provides a strong emotional attachment to encourage faithfulness. To have godly offspring, husbands and wives must have sex both to reproduce and reinforce fidelity. Paul wrote about faithfulness between husband and wife in 1 Corinthians 7:2-5:

Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

Sexual activity is only permitted by God within marriage. Outside of marriage it is sinful. To keep the married together and avoid fornication/adultery, husbands and wives must have sex with one another regularly. This encourages faithfulness. The alternative is temptation to have sex with someone who is not one’s spouse, adultery. Adultery greatly damages and may sever the marriage. Children will not have the nurturing environment that God intended, and the purpose of marriage, producing godly offspring, will not be fulfilled. God wants married couples to have sex. This is healthy behavior; it is godly and holy.

Satan wants sex to be a common and unsanctified. His efforts produce children without fathers, women that kill their children through abortion, rampant venereal disease. God’s plan is better! Fulfilling our sexual needs in marriage is God’s design. Thank God for sex in marriage!

God bless you, and I love you.
