The Church in the Post-Truth Era
What does the church do about living in a post-truth culture? We keep on doing the same thing we have always done, speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15).
In this lesson, we will look at Matthew 25:35, 36 as a guide for caring for others. This passage indicates that we should care for others by providing for their 1) Nourishment, 2) Shelter, 3) Clothing, 4) Comfort, and 5) Companionship. We must understand what it means to care about other people. Jesus said that this was key to eternal life.
Faithful families create the ideal environment in which to rear children because they will have stability from 1) Parents, 2) the Church, and 3) Morality. God’s ways produce the best results for faithful families.
For us to love our God-given responsibilities we must 1) Accept how God has made us as men and women, 2) Receive God’s plan for the family, 3) Embrace the responsibilities God has given to us. Each hearer should understand that the responsibilities God has given for the family are not subject to the desires of humanity. When we love our God-given responsibilities, we encourage our families to faithfulness.
To be a spiritual leader one must adopt 1) Jesus’ Model of Leadership, 2) Jesus’ Method of Leadership, and 3) Jesus’ Mission of Leadership. Each hearer should know what it means to be a spiritual leader in his/her family. Spiritual leadership means humbling ourselves before God to serve one another in our families.
If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it
In this lesson, we will discuss 1) what it means to have goals and objectives, 2) failures of the past to pursue spirituality, 3) the one and only goal of the spiritual family, to effect spiritual transformation. Each hearer should understand that whatever is done in life should be done to pursue spiritual transformation. That each listener would understand the need for spiritual transformation.
In this lesson, we will study of the blood of Christ and that it speaks about 1) The Church, 2) Salvation, and 3) Responsibility. Each hearer should understand the significance of the blood of Christ. I hope to help people think more about the blood of Christ during the Lord’s Supper.
This is an opportunity for us to practice the great commission of Jesus. “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).
To be a child of God is to have the blessing of: 1) Forgiveness, 2) Family 3) A Father 4) Felicity. Each should be encouraged in knowing that they are children of God. I hope to use fatherhood as an illustration of what it means to be a child of God.
In this lesson, we will discuss the danger of apathy and how to address it. The hearer should understand the causes of apathy and what he can do about it. I want to address how apathy hinders the church.
The least in the kingdom of heaven would be greater than John in that they have greater access to knowledge regarding God's divine will. Remember that the prophets of the Old Covenant did not have the complete will of God revealed to them.
It is time to look forward and go forward! This new year has some great opportunities in store for us to work and serve.
In this lesson, we will look to the example of good king Hezekiah on how to clean up for our New Year. At the beginning of this new year we must 1) Clean Up Our Temple, 2) Clean Up Our Worship, 3) Clean Up Our Participation, 4) Clean Up Our Giving. Each hearer should resolve to make a new start in the new year so as to be dedicated to serving the Lord.
