The Bible’s Teaching about Complaints

The Bible speaks of complaints that are unwarranted, but also of complaints that are warranted or righteous. We will look at these two areas and then examine some of the results of both warranted and unwarranted complaints. Each should understand the difference between righteous and unrighteous complaints and their results. This lesson is designed to help us understand how to handle complaints and the proper role of repentance in complaints.

Did Jesus Come to Bring Peace or a Sword?

The section of scripture with which we are concerned falls within the sundry warnings that Jesus is giving to his disciples regarding the lost sheep of the house of Israel.  Jesus words to them are basically this.  Don’t expect that you will receive a warm welcome out of the unfaithful.  When you preach the gospel, people are going to become your enemies.  In this sense, Jesus’ came to bring a sword.  The warning of Micah describing the unfaithful holds true here.  Even among families, there will be division.  This is the typical response of the unfaithful.

He Ate with Publicans and Sinners (Part 3)

We ought not to criticize those who are trying to do such. Such displays a true Pharisaical attitude toward preaching the gospel to the lost.

Life is in the Blood

In this lesson we will learn that the life is in the blood as we compare the functions of blood with the functions of the blood of Christ: Blood 1) replenishes, 2) removes, 3) repairs, and 4) regulates. Each listener should recognize the function of the blood of Christ as it gives life to the body.

The Importance of Communion to the Child of God

Why is communion important? It is a 1) Declaration of Faith, 2) Demonstration of Fellowship, 3) Deliberation of Forgiveness. The listener should understand the importance of communion in relationship to Christ, others, and himself.

In this lesson we will look at the church in Sardis as described in Revelation 3. Each should be familiar with the description of the church at Sardis. The aim of this lesson is to teach the lessons of the church at Sardis.

In this lesson we will look at the Asian church of Thyatira. We will note that Jesus knows: 1) The state of the church, 2) Those who are unfaithful, 3) Those who are faithful. Each should be able to discuss the situation in the church at Thyatira. The aim of this lesson is that each would be more familiar with the lessons from this church.
