Should We Assemble on the Sabbath to Worship?
Should we assemble on the Sabbath to worship? Some religious folks do, but the Bible never commands Christians to do this.
In this lesson, we will learn what it means to fear God: 1) Emotionally, 2) Behaviorally, and 3) Spiritually. Each person will understand that God has commanded us to fear Him so as to order our lives correctly, and failure to fear God leads to destruction.
Faithful fathers build families and churches by being 1) Faithful to the Lord, 2) Faithful to their Wives, 3) Faithful to their Children. Each hearer will know how faithful fathers build faithful families and churches.
In this lesson, we will discuss 1) what it means to have goals and objectives, 2) failures of the past to pursue spirituality, 3) the one and only goal of the spiritual family, to effect spiritual transformation. Each hearer should understand that whatever is done in life should be done to pursue spiritual transformation. That each listener would understand the need for spiritual transformation.
In this lesson, we will look at some Bible principles on friendship: 1) We were made for friendship, 2) Friendship is founded on the good, 3) Friends are Independent, 4) Friendship is Generous. To encourage us to be better friends by understanding the Bible’s teaching.
We will look at the parable and then draw out some principles. We need to take care of God’s people as Jesus desires, not as we desire.
Jesus died on the cross because God loved the world enough to sacrifice His own Son for the world’s salvation. Each listener should be able to explain how God’s love motivated Him to sacrifice His Son, Jesus. Jesus died on the cross because 1) God is a God of Love, 2) The World Needed True Love, 3) The Son Demonstrated that Love. I hope that the listener would understand God’s motives in sending His Son to die on the cross.
The point is this: the assumption of restoration does not necessarily imply non existence of that which needs to be restored as the question seems to imply. We recognize that restoration means that that which needs to be restored has deteriorated badly. In what sense? In the sense that not very much of the original is left. But that means that SOME of the original is still there. How can it be restored? By following the pattern for the original. In the case of the church, where do we find that pattern? In the New Testament.

I wonder what would happen if Jesus gave a “State of the Church” speech to us today? We really do not have to wonder. He gave such a speech in Revelation 2-3 when he evaluated the seven churches of Asia.
