The Story of Ed the Altar
From Joshua 22 we learn about 1) Fellowship, 2) Falling Out, 3) Fact Finding, and 3) Fairness. We should follow the example of the Israelites when resolving our problems as well.
In this lesson, we will look at four blessings of salvation 1) Remission of Sin, 2) Refreshing from the Lord, 3) Restoration of Fellowship, 4) Rejoicing in Heaven. The objective of this lesson is for the hearer to better understand and appreciate the spiritual blessings we have in Christ. In understanding our blessings, we should be motivated to live responsibly.
In this study we will observe some lessons from the life of Adam and Eve. 1) God is our creator. 2) God's commands are for our benefit. 3) Satan is our enemy. 4) Sin separates man from God. Each listener should be able to apply these lessons from the account of Adam and Eve in Genesis 1-3. The aim of this lesson is to review the first three chapters of the Bible specifically as applies to man and to learn not to repeat the mistakes that were made by Adam and Eve.
As we study through Psalm 119:161-168 we will note that the blessing of loving God’s word brings 1) Awe, 2) Joy, 3) Hatred of Falsehood, 4) Praise, 5) Peace, 6) Hope, 7) Love, and 8) Faithfulness. I hope that each will understand that loving God’s word brings great personal blessing.
In this lesson, we will study of the blood of Christ and that it speaks about 1) The Church, 2) Salvation, and 3) Responsibility. Each hearer should understand the significance of the blood of Christ. I hope to help people think more about the blood of Christ during the Lord’s Supper.
Jesus died on the cross so that we could be forgiven of sin. Forgiveness means that 1) Every person has an opportunity to be forgiven. 2) God no longer holds our sins against us, 3) We have a standard upon which to forgive one another. Each listener should know what he needs to do to obtain forgiveness, where that puts him in a relationship to God, and to his fellow.
In this lesson, we will study why Jesus died on the cross. To understand that Jesus brings unity to mankind in the church, we must understand God’s original design in the creation. When we understand this, we will understand that Jesus died on the cross to restore unity between God and man, and between man and man. Each member should understand that Jesus died on the cross to bring unity in the church as the restoration of His purposes in creation.
In this lesson we learn that near the cross we find 1) Healing, 2) Heaven, and 3) Help. As an objective of this lesson, the listener will be able to understand scripturally the song “Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross.”
Why is communion important? It is a 1) Declaration of Faith, 2) Demonstration of Fellowship, 3) Deliberation of Forgiveness. The listener should understand the importance of communion in relationship to Christ, others, and himself.
