From looking at the dictionary definition of “opportunity,” we see some clear concepts.  First, opportunity involves a time or occasion.  Second, there is the idea of goal seeking.  Third is the notion of advancement or success.  We might put it this way: An opportunity is a time to seek success!  We have just such a time before us this coming weekend with our gospel meeting.  We need to take advantage of this time to seek success!  How can we do that?

First, please pray for the success of our gospel meeting.  God answers prayer and prayer encourages us to be faithfully involved in God’s work.  Jesus taught “that men ought always to pray, and not to faint” (Luke 18:1).  Second, think of someone you know who would benefit from coming to our gospel meeting and invite them to be here.  We want as many to come to all of the services as we can get!  There is no one that we cannot invite!  Jesus said, “Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled” (Luke 14:23).  Third, please make plans to attend.  This is our effort and we need to support it!  Fourth, let’s have a positive attitude about this event.  We may experience a few hiccups, but with a positive attitude our challenges can be changed into cheer. “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice” (Phil.4:4).  Finally, don’t forget the big picture!  We are doing this to love God and love one another (Matthew 22:37-40).  That is our purpose in life.  May God help us to fulfill that purpose in our efforts!  I love you, and God bless you.
