Be Ye Thankful

We thank God that He continues to give the increase at the New Boston Church of Christ (1 Corinthians 3:7).  It is thrilling that we had two more baptisms this past weekend.  Please welcome Jayden Smallwood and Tony Taff to the family of God if not in person then definitely in your prayers.  Jayden is one of our young ladies that attends at our services regularly.  Tony is one of the inmates at the Barry Telford prison unit near New Boston.  Please pray for them as they begin their journey in Christ.

My family and I are grateful for your prayers as we travelled last week.  We enjoyed our time with family and friends in Austin, Texas for spring break.  I am thankful to the elders for my personal time.  I contracted some illness and stayed in bed a lot, but that didn’t prevent everyone else from having a good time, and I would say that the vacation accomplished what it needed to accomplish.  We are all rested up and ready to get back into the swing of things here in New Boston.

I am thankful for brother Jimmy Smith and the fine job that he did teaching class and preaching this past Sunday.  I understand that everyone was uplifted by his words.  I am also thankful for brother Michael Raney for teaching Bible class last Wednesday evening.  It is so good to have men in the congregation who can step up and fill in from time to time.  “Wherefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as also ye do” (1 Thessalonians 5:11).  Let’s set our energies to encouraging one another and building each other up in the Lord this week!  God bless you, and I love you.
